2x4 Block Pumpkin, Free Plan
One 8-ft 2x4, six cuts and a real branch for the stem. This chunky barrel-shaped pumpkin is a quick beginner build: about an hour in the shop plus paint drying time. It finishes about 9" wide, 9" tall and 3½" deep, and it'll sit on the porch step, mantel or table till the first snow.
Paint it plain orange, or give him a face. It's a fun family project, so let everyone decorate their own any way they want.
Your free 2-page PDF includes:
- A cut list for all six pieces, measured on the long edge
- A cut layout showing how to get everything from one stud
- A labelled front-view diagram
- 10 plain steps, from setting the saw to decorating
- Shop tips for staining pine and making a family of sizes
You'll need a saw that tilts to 22½°, a drill with a bit sized to your branch, about ten 2½" screws, wood glue, orange paint or stain, and a dry branch.
Free plan for personal use. The PDF downloads right after checkout.
